The Recording Industry Association of America certified The Weeknd's hit single from 2015 "The Hills" as officially diamond. The diamond stamp means that single has pushed over 10 million units since it was first released. It is also only the 20th single in the 60-year history of the RIAA's program to reach diamond level.
The Weeknd headed to Twitter to thank his circle on June 28th by saying "became a diamond selling artist today. i'm nothing without my team." The accomplishment does more than just bolter The Weeknd's reputation as a modern day Michael Jackson-type but also cements his legacy by being able to say he shares another milestone with the late singer/performer.
