R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty, Judge Denies Bail

R. Kelly was back in court today and plead not guilty in his racketeering and sex trafficking case. The 5-count indictment comes from the Eastern District of New York. The Judge denied his bail quickly. The indictment in New York is separate from the more daunting challenge of his 13-count indictment in Illinois.

Authorities are saying R. Kelly used his fame and music to lure in and recruit both women and girls to participate in a myriad of lurid sexual activities. Authorities say that R. Kelly has intimidated officials and witnesses in the past, poses a great danger to society and must be kept behind bars. R. Kelly is facing up to 195 years in prison in Chicago alone.
