Killer Mike, the Run The Jewels front man and Trigger Warning show host, went on Real Time with Bill Maher to talk about the situation with Jay-z and the NFL. The internet went into a frenzy when Jay-Z partnered with the NFL to produce events and cultivate social activism initiatives.
Proponents of the deal are frustrated with the perceived lack of empathy for Colin Kaepernick and say that Jay-Z is just looking out for himself and his company Roc Nation. Kaepernick sparked the conversation of addressing police brutality against minorities by kneeling during the national anthem with players like Eric Reid, Malcom Jenkins, and many more joining in on the protest.
