6th Annual Fresh Faces Spotlight Vol. 6 - Ali Cashius Jr

24 days. We are getting closer and closer to the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival. If you've found yourself craving more information on the biggest completely independent festival in the world then you’ll want to keep reading. We are proud to showcase some ”Fresh Faces“ that are coming up in the AZ Hip Hop scene and next up is Ali Cashius Jr.

Ali Cashius Jr. is a rare breed in this current state of Hip Hop. The masses are fed the same things from a plethora of carbon copy artists and Ali Cashius Jr. is an entirely different artist with a real world mentality. His wordplay fits in with heavy hitting artists but it’s not the same. His song writing fits in with some of the best right now but it’s not the same. His style and approach mesh well with the current wave but it’s not the same. Ali Cashius Jr. is not the same. Check out his song “Keep Running” for an exemplary example of his talents. Having a father from Yemen and a mother from Puerto Rico, Ali dealt with the hardships of not fitting in and having to prove why he belonged. From the sneaking into clubs in Detroit to battle rap against adults when he was 16 to putting the weight of his family’s stresses on his back, Ali Cashius Jr. has always thrived with his back against the wall. The man they call The Poor Rican has made a name for himself by stripping away all of the flash and glamour that so many artists propagate. In spite of all the homogenized Hip Hop out right now, or maybe even because of it, Ali Cashius Jr has cultivated a following of real fans that are eager to hear something new and real. He is an artist you don’t know want to miss this year. Catch his performance at the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival.
