6th Annual Fresh Faces Spotlight Vol. 3 - KURU

44 days and counting. We are getting closer and closer to the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival. If you've found yourself craving more information on the biggest completely independent festival in the world then you’ll want to keep reading. We are proud to showcase some ”Fresh Faces“ that are coming up in the AZ Hip Hop scene and the next artist we have up is KURU

The lead singer of a band? That might seem foreign to some fans of Hip Hop but the man they call KURU is just that but also much more. His band KURU is a trio made up of himself, guitarist Dylon Smith and Drummer Kurtis Lee. KURU’s sound is definitely not typical and because of that it fits right in with the new wave of artists creating and maneuvering on their own terms. Their music plays like pop-punk and ambient trap merged. Certain artists like The Weeknd, Yung Blood, Post Malone, MCR, and The Neighborhood mesh well with their sound but none of them quite replicate it.

KURU engages with his fans on and off stage and the band has developed a reputation for having talent and presence beyond their years. Their latest single “BLAKK SABBATH” is dark and moving at the same time. You can feel your heart move as well as your feet and it’s a blending that feels effortless. They will be dropping a single on the day of the festival (NOV. 16TH) and an album titled GHOSTSTORIES VOL. III in early 2020.

Don't miss this one of a kind performance at the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival.
