There are only 25 days left until the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival and everyone is looking at the newly released lineups, trying to decide which artists to catch live. We wanted to help highlight some artists you should check out when the biggest Hip Hop event in Arizona commences for the sixth year in a row. Here are two ladies you need to have your radar, Smeared Lipstick Crew.
Coming together through serendipitous means and seeming to fit so well, Smeared Lipstick Crew are two artists that you hear once and never forget. In 2013 someone suggested that Monique, being heavily influenced by 90’s era gangster rap, and Unique De’Vine, influenced by Linkin Park, Missy Elliott and Eminem, collaborate on a project (Smeared Lipstick) that eventually became the name of the duo. Thank you to the person that recommended that. The two artists blended so well together that it seemed like a natural fit and progression for the both of them. With an insane energy on stage and vicious deliveries that will turn the biggest doubters to fans, they are hungry to show that Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion are not anomalies in the game and it’s time for Smeared Lipstick to leave a mark on the industry. Now headlining this year‘s AZ Hip Hop Festival is a bold statement to go along with being prominent faces of The Brown Girlz movement, so these two lyrical assassins will be spending 2020 with their hands full and they wouldn’t have it any other way. This isn’t a mans game anymore. Unique De’Vine & Monique are not only advocates of female empowerment but are turning into pillars in the AZ Hip Hop scene. They are role models for any woman that wants to see herself rise above the antiquated status quo of the old guard. Don’t miss them shut it down this year at the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festival.
