Hip Hop can be a teacher. If you’re not sure about that then you need to know more about the man they call Mega Ran. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and calling the desert of Arizona home, Mega Ran is a layered artist that has carved his own unique path through the zeitgeist of Hip Hop. Mega Ran decided to forgo his teaching career to pursue a career as a rapper. Not to sound too cliche but that was a “smart“ move by the former teacher and his results ever since releasing his first project in 2006 have been extremely impressive all with independent hustle and growth. His fan base is filled with lyrical lovers, video gamers, and comic book/sci-fI nerds amongst many others. Old school Hip Hop fans will hear his influences of KRS-ONE, Redman, And Rakim. His younger fans latch on to his plethora of nerdtastic content. His Mega Man inspired flow grabs you as he dishes out bar after bar with an impressive arsenal, but he has easily made his own reputation with engaging live performances and workaholic mentality. His most recent release, “The Dewey Decibel System” with MC Lars debuted on the Billboard Top 100 ans made the Grammy shortlist for “Best Children’s Album”. From hosting Pay Per View events and having Hip Hop legends request you to DJ for them, Mega Ran has done a lot and he’s really just getting started. Catch his headlong performance this year at the 6th Annual Arizona Hip Hop Festiva.
